hi anon! I was on hiatus bc of school when you sent this so I apologize for not responding earlier. yeah here’s my dead but beloved elizabeth/george blog for meta and the like - I advise you not to watch beyond the second season bc the third is atrocious - not just in terms of its treatment of those characters but in its horrible writing overall and complete lack of care for its female characters in general. but the fandom for george/elizabeth is still active and fantastic with many great fics and tons of great analysis.

as for my headcanon I’d say the best version of that I’ve seen is these fics by my friend @chocksawaychaps near the top of this tag on my blog - they’re incredible and so realistic its easy to take them as canon instead of whatever garbage happened in season 3 (I quit after the first episode bc of the horrible characterization and geoffrey-charles idolizing his mother’s rapist which didn’t even happen in the books)
